1994  july 5
The idea to establish Libyan Urology Association (LUA) started in 1983 by Prof.Alhadi Hussein where he commenced the first meeting of the LUA in the department of Urology in Tripoli Medical Centre (TMC), 12 urology specialist attended this meeting from the entire country (Libya).

2005 February 2
Expanded
The LUA received formal accreditation in 12 November 1992 and first president was chosen (Dr Mahmod Alnajih). The LUA had many national and international activities but unfortunately interrupted by the country unrest for a period of time.

2008 January 31
However, when the country politically stabilised the activities restarted again in the last years where four sections has been added : urological oncology, paediatric urology, urinary incontinence, male infertility and andrology section. The LUA conferences stared to be annually and number of candidates increased to 300 doctors.
